This is a PSA about color combinations in the Diana smoothie line, for regulars, occasionals, and (most importantly) newcomers.
For reference, the most important Diana ingredients and their respective colors:
- Bananas (yellow)
- Strawberries (red)
- (Blue)berries
- Pineapple (yellow)
- Peach (pink/reddish, but, yellow)
- Mango (yellow)
- Kale (green)
- Sun butter (brown)
- Chocolate chips (brown)
Gentle reminders before we begin: when you combine colors they turn into other colors, and when those colors are opposites on the color wheel, they turn into some variant of brown.
Now, the three most important rules of color when making a Diana smoothie (as confirmed by a frequent Diana smoothie line worker):
- Nut butter (reference color chart) and an entirely yellow ingredient-based smoothie (i.e. banana, pineapple, peach, or mango) make brown, a very pale, almost grey, brown.
- Kale (reference color chart), when combined with (blue)berries, makes brown.
- Kale (reference color chart), when combined with strawberries (reference color chart), makes a deeply dark red-brown.
For future reference, a series of beautiful color combinations to keep in mind:
- Kale and any yellow base make a brilliant, bright green.
- Blueberries and actually any ingredient that is not kale make a gorgeous, dark purple.
- Strawberries and really, truly, any ingredient that is not kale (repeat: not kale) make your smoothie a stunning display of red.
Do what you will with this information, but please, kindly consider your color combinations as you wait in the always-long Diana line. And remember, a brown Diana smoothie really does not match your outfit.
