Be careful which transportation hubs you call ugly in middle school.
Bwogline: On Monday, New York Governor Kathy Hochul and the executive leadership of the Port Authority for New York and New Jersey unveiled plans to replace a pair of John F. Kennedy Airport’s existing terminals with the new Terminal One. The $9.5 billion project will be funded by three private investment and management firms, and the new Terminal One will include expanded security and check-in stations, New York vendors, 23 gates catering to international travel, and most importantly—tall ceilings and natural lighting. Two-thirds of the new international gates are scheduled to open in 2026 with the full project being finished in approximately 2030 (Gothamist).
Study Tip: If you feel distracted by random noises while studying in a library, throw on a white noise YouTube video. (This video is my personal favorite.) It helps drown out the sound of loud typers, slamming doors, and people who are whispering. (Side note: please do not talk/whisper in a silent study room during finals season. There are rooms for collaborative work. Go talk in those.)
Music of the Day: Do It by Chloe x Halle. Listening to this while walking laps around Butler 3 makes me feel like the coolest girl in Ref.
Procrastination Tip: If you’re going to procrastinate, make it festive! Take the 1 downtown and visit classic NYC holiday spots like Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue, and Bryant Park Winter Village. While you’re at it, go with some friends and find pretty Christmas lights to admire.
Overseen/Overheard: Last Thursday, I was walking home around midnight from Butler and happened to be walking down Frat Row. I looked in one of the windows of one of the houses, and the people inside were watching Madagascar on a huge TV.
