To all of my non-conformers, here is a list of accessories that you will have to avoid. Best of luck to all and may the odds be ever in your favor.
I am someone who absolutely loves a good accessory just as much as the next girl does. However, my confidence is shattered whenever I decide to reapply my Aquaphor Lip Repair when I see the girl beside me whip out her tube of cocoa-butter-blueberry-passionfruit lip combo from Summer Fridays. Here are more accessories that are crossing the fine line of trend to epidemic:
Accessories:
- Ribbon bows
- Micro-realism tattoos on their outer/inner arm. I have fallen victim to this…twice I fear (see exhibit A and B below)
- Owala bottles
- 90’s headphones (the over-the-ear ones)
- Micro-bangs
- Headphones with stickers
- Sonny angels that sit on top of phones/laptops
- Having the entire Apple ecosystem (Apple Watch, iPad with Apple Pencil, AirPods Max, MacBook Pro)
Winter accessories:
- Chunky scarves
- Extreme layering. I respect it, but not to the point where you are drowning in your clothing.
Shoes:
- Wales Bonner x Adidas. I wish that I was not guilty of contributing to this serial trend. These shoes are madly expensive, for why?
- Ultra-Mini Uggs. Bonus points if they are platform.
School book-bags:
- Longchamp bags. How do your books not flop around loosely in those totes?
- 2000s messenger bags
- Last but not least, using a Goyard as your school bag
