What are three things you learned at Columbia and would like to share with the Class of 2028?
1. Don’t let yourself become socially jaded. Some of my closest friends here were made in my or their last semesters on campus. There is always enough time.
2. The work always gets done––trust that it will, you are likely worrying far more than you need to.
3. Live in New York! Campus can be all-consuming, and the city can be expensive/intimidating, but finding an off-campus scene has been really important for my sanity.
“Back in my day…”
You could graduate with a minor and get a bachelors in CS without ever really learning how to code.
Favorite Columbia lore?
Emlyn Hughes, his class is as kooky as his lore.
What was your favorite class at Columbia?
The 19th Century European Novel with Nick Dames. A lecture so good it had me grinding readings on friday nights during my senior spring.
Would you rather give up oral sex or cheese?
As a lactose intolerant individual, there’s really only one way to go…
Whom would you like to thank?
Everyone! Friends and mentors from climbing, spec, the writing center, class, cycling, and the bus.
One thing to do before graduating?
Take a summer for yourself, go somewhere far away!
Any regrets?
None in particular
