Happening in the World: Israel carried out four air strikes on the Lebanese city Tyre, close to a site of ancient Roman ruins, after expanding its evacuation orders to several other central neighborhoods. Before the strikes began, a spokesperson said 14,000 people, including those displaced from the south, were still in the city. There were no immediate reports of casualties. (BBC)

Happening in the US: Hurricane Milton ravaged one of the most popular areas for ‘snowbirds’ on the coast of Florida. Many of these beaches, regularly voted some of the best in the US, are still closed to the public due to the devastation from two weeks ago. A resident says visitors should stay away for some time to avoid interfering with the local recovery work. (AP)

Happening in NYC: LaGuardia’s previous reputation of being one of the worst airports is toppled with its new title of “best airport” in the country awarded by Forbes. The airport has undergone major renovations since it was consistently ranked last in national reports. LaGuardia “is no longer a national laughingstock, but something our entire region and country can be proud of,” said the Executive Director. (Gothamist)
