Visualizing Science Symposium: The Impact of Art on Science
- Thursday, November 7, 9 am to 6 pm, Italian Academy
- This interdisciplinary event brings together Columbia faculty, students, staff, and the public to explore the relationship and connections between scientific and artistic fields. The symposium includes sessions, a panel discussion that will specifically focus on artificial intelligence, a networking session, and an exhibition viewing.

- Columbia Musical Theatre Society presents its Fall 2024 Mainstage production of Fun Home. The musical traces the life of Alison Bechdel and is based on Bechdel’s memoir, putting vignettes of Alison’s life together and exploring themes of family relationships and identity.
- Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9, at 7:30 pm, Manhattan Movement and Arts Center (off-campus)
- Columbia Repertory Ballet, a group dedicated to performing classical and contemporary ballet works, presents its Fall Gala. Four choreographers, Emily Kikta, Michael Foley, Anna Hughlett, and Pemberley Olson, have restaged their work on Columbia dancers, who will also perform classical repertoire.
Visual Arts + Sound Art Class of 2025 Open Studios
- Sunday, November 10, 2 to 5 pm, Prentis Hall (School of the Arts)
- Students from the School of the Arts’ Visual Arts and Sound Art MFA program will present their work at this semester’s Open Studios. You can read the full list of artists at the link above.

- Columbia University Ballet Ensemble produces one full-length ballet each semester, casting all dancers who audition. This semester’s work is The Nutcracker, the classic holiday story.
Columbia University Taiko Festival
- Sunday, November 10, 4 to 9 pm, Roone Arledge Auditorium (Lerner Hall)
- This year’s annual Taiko Festival is hosted by Columbia University Taiko and will feature performances from groups across the East Coast, including Shoji Kameda, Soh Daiko, OMNY Taiko, Casual Fifth, and more. They invite audiences to “come feel the powerful rhythms of taiko drums, eat good food, and celebrate our tenth anniversary as a taiko ensemble!”
