Happening in the World: After nine years of service, India’s luxury airline, Vistara, took its last flight. The airline is now undergoing plans to merge with Air India, expanding the company’s network and fleet. The airlines’ operations are set to be transferred and managed by Air India, a process which has been ongoing for months to ease the transition for passengers. Meals, service ware, and other soft elements have been upgraded for all parties, incorporating parts of both airlines. However, the merging process has been far from easy. With pilot shortages, massive flight cancellations, mass sick leave over salary structuring, and the issue of differing service standards, the companies are enduring harsh growing pains that affect passengers and staff alike. Happening in the US: On Monday, Wisconsin’s high court heard oral arguments on whether the state’s 1849 abortion ban should still be enforced. Officials claim that abortion-rights advocates stand a strong chance of prevailing, as the court has a larger group of liberal judges. It is believed that Monday’s arguments are more of a formality to the weeks-long ruling process ahead. Previously with the implementation of Roe v. Wade in 1973, the state’s abortion ban was nullified, but never repealed. With the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022, conservatives argued that the state’s ban was enforceable once more. This has led to a myriad of lawsuits, rulings, and arguments within the state’s court. (AP)
