Population Health and Migration in a Changing Climate

- Join Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics for an exclusive film screening of Engineers at Ground Zero, which is followed by a Q&A and drinks reception. The documentary highlights the work of leading engineers throughout NYC who played a vital role in the World Trade Center recovery efforts at Ground Zero. It features interviews with these lesser known “second responders” following the tragic events of 9/11. More information.
The Chemistry of Life: Molecules, Biomedicine and the Fight Against Disease

- Chemistry professor and Dean of Natural Sciences Ruben L. Gonzales Jr. is giving a three session “Mini-Core”, where he is illustrating recent discoveries into how science is reshaping our future. Specifically, he will explore new technology such as CRISPR and targeted cancer therapies. More information.
Can HIV Transform Global Health?

- Experts will analyze the history of response to the global HIV epidemic, tracking progress in multiple nations. The talk will explore this public health triumph, how its lessons can be applied to other threats, and strategies to continue controlling global HIV. More information.

- AI Scholars at Columbia will share new research on the potential implications of AI, followed by an interview with Sayash Kapoor, co-author of AI Snake Oil: What Artificial Intelligence Can Do, What It Can’t, and How to Tell the Difference.
