  • Wednesday, May 7, 6 to 8 pm, Pulitzer Hall World Room.
  • This event will discuss the ways in which modern day technologies are enabling authoritarian regimes to censor and surveil people. The discussion will feature Director of the Citizen Lab at the University of Toronto Ron Deibert and Executive Director of the Knight Institute Jameel Jaffer.

Young Adults and the Tax Debate: Policy Considerations for the Childless Earned Income Tax Credit

  • Thursday, May 8, 1 to 2 pm, on Zoom. 
  • Join scholars of social policy as they engage in the ongoing debate about the age expansion of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Including workers not raising kids at home, as a kind of ‘childless EITC,’ would bolster the economic security of many young adults. Speakers include Margot Crandall-Hollick, Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center, Alexander Lundrigan, Young Invincibles, and Anastasia Koutavas, Center on Poverty and Social Policy.
