Postwar Worlds: Past, Present, and Future

  • Tuesday, October 7 and Wednesday, October 8, 9 am to 4:30 pm, International Affairs Building, Room 1512 and Maison Française.
  • During this two-day event, a conference will examine the aftermath and legacy of WWII. The speakers will give particular attention to the institutional foundations of the post-war global order and to our disappearing hope for a just and peaceful world. Day 1 of the conference will be hosted in the International Affairs Building and Day 2 in Maison Française.

Sunset Salsa

  • Wednesday, October 8, 6 to 8 pm, Revson Plaza.
  • If you like to dance, you’ll love this event! Join Graduate Initiative for a night of salsa dancing, led by world-renowned instructor Talia Castro-Pozo. The night will begin with beginner salsa lessons and end with an open dance floor. All levels are welcome!

Jewish Odesa: Negotiating Identities & Tradition in Contemporary Ukraine

  • Thursday, October 9, 4:15 to 5:45 pm, International Affairs Building, Marshall D. Shulman Seminar Room, 1219.
  • Hosted by the Harriman Institute, this book talk will feature author Marina Sapritsky-Nahum. Her book Jewish Odesa discusses Jewish life in Odesa, Ukraine, and its cultural resilience amid the ongoing war.

  • Undergraduate Student Life is hosting a very cute afternoon of apple picking at Apple Ridge Orchard. Besides apple picking, activities will include a hay ride, a petting zoo, and seasonal snacks (fresh pressed cider and apple cider donuts). Sign up by October 5 to win your spot!
