The perfect meal if you miss $12 pasta dinners at Fumo.

 After a tough syllabus week, this meal feels like the perfect comfort food, a small reward for all the energy required to navigate those endless waitlists.

Ingredients:

  • Splash of olive oil
  • ½ an onion 
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic
  • ½ – ⅔ cup of tomato paste
  • A spoonful of red pepper flakes
  • ½ cup of heavy cream 
  • ½ cup of pasta water 
  • ¾ box of penne 
  • Optional: ¼ cup of vodka 

Instructions:

  1. Prep and boil a pot of water and cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package.
  2. Finely chop the onions and garlic.
  3. Grab a pan from the shelf and drizzle some olive oil, and let it warm up.
  4. Once the oil is heated, add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  5. After a few minutes of cooking the onion, add the garlic onto the pan.
  6. After 5-7 minutes, add the tomato paste and mix it well into the garlic and onion.
  7. Add some red pepper flakes and stir in some heavy cream.
  8. Once the pasta has come to a boil, grab some of the pasta water and add it into the sauce.
  9. Lastly, toss the pasta into the sauce and enjoy!!!
