The University is recording faculty stances tomorrow on its plan to integrate Columbia College and the School of General Studies further into Arts and Sciences, the University division which also oversees a number of graduate schools.

Increases vary greatly among schools, as some CC and SEAS students will now be offered a tuition-free education while GS students will see a much more modest rise in aid.

In an email to Barnard students on Monday evening, the SGA Elections Commission announced the new slate of SGA representatives and class officers.

In an email earlier today, Barnard announced the 2022 Commencement speaker and four other medalists, including Olympian Allyson Felix.

Columbia Facilities and Operations announced this afternoon that they will begin removing tents around campus in response to the University’s changes in COVID-19 safety protocols.

University administration announced this afternoon that 2022 Commencement will take place in-person on May 18 on Columbia’s Morningside campus. Additionally, the Classes of 2020 and 2021 will both be recognized in an in-person ceremony the following day.

Earlier this morning, Columbia Dining announced that indoor seating options for the CU dining halls will resume this Monday.

Due to the interruption of Core classes by the SWC-UAW strike, University Writing sections will now require additional instruction and coursework, to be completed after the Spring 2022 semester.

According to an email sent out today, students who test positive for COVID-19 will now isolate for five days if asymptomatic.

In light of the Omicron variant and an uptick in COVID-19 case numbers, Columbia is implementing new restrictions on dining and social gatherings for all community members.

As the Omicron variant spreads and COVID-19 cases rise, the University is now going to require a COVID-19 booster shot, as well as require masks to be worn indoors through mid-March 2022.

Applicants were informed of their decision status around the same time as prospective members of Barnard ’26.

President Lee Bollinger announced the appointment of Dr. Katrina Armstrong as the new Chief Executive Officer of Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Executive Vice President for Health and Biomedical Sciences, and Dean of the Faculties of Health Sciences and Medicine in an email sent earlier today.

Deans James J. Valentini and Lisa Rosen-Metsch announced on Monday evening via email that the modifications of academic policies from Fall 2020 and Spring 2021—specific to choosing the Pass/D/Fail option for a course—will be implemented for Fall 2021.
