Just a preview of your Spring Break's potent potables.

Welcome back to Drinking with Bwog, your favorite way to start the weekend. This week, the Columbia Bartending Agency’s Matt Kalish shows you how to make a Tequila Sunrise. Drink responsibly…who are we kidding, nothing responsible ever came from tequila.

Next up is a personal favorite of mine—the Tequila Sunrise. The recipe is simple, but the technique is key. Here’s how it’s done…

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Tequila
  • 6 oz Orange Juice (or fill the glass)
  • ½ oz Grenadine

Directions

First, add your ice (about halfway), tequila, and OJ.  To make your drink look just right, carefully let the grenadine slide down the inside of the glass. If you don’t have a pour top available, pour slowly onto the back of a spoon and let it fall to the bottom. The grenadine will settle in the glass and create a cool “sunrise” effect with the orange juice. Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry and you’ve got yourself a Tequila Sunrise.

In Columbia Bartending news, the next round of mixology classes starts on Wednesday (2/16) and Thursday (2/17)!  Register on the website to make sure your spot is saved.
