Hannukah Celebration Tonight

Written by

Thanksgiving just kicked off the entire holiday season, which means Morningside is about to get a lot more festive. Tonight is the first of many events, campus-wide Hannukah celebrations.

The Jewish Festival of Lights is finally here! Join in on a festive communal candle-lighting ceremony in your dorm, or a dorm nearby, complete with candy, dreidels, and FREE donuts! In addition, as part of the spirit of gift-giving and triumph over tragedy, please join in our efforts to raise money for the recovery efforts in the Philippines through the American Jewish World Service– there will be ”tzedaka” (charity) collection boxes at the event.

When: Monday, Dec. 2, 7:30-8:30 pm

Barnard dorms: Sulz lobby, Elliot lobby, Plimpton lounge, 600 lounge;
Columbia dorms: Furnald lounge, Schapiro lounge, E.C. lounge)

Festive, free food, and philanthropic? Perfect.

    Why is this night different from all other nights? On all other nights lighting up is not a big deal but tonight there are events and everything. I'll be lighting up in my room, or in the shower, or in my alcove or wherever, as always.
