You know when that email bling at 4:23 am, it can only mean…. Ben and Viv.

This edition of Night in the Life comes in the form of imagined conversations between Benjamin Makansi and Vivek Ramakrishnan–a.k.a. Ben and Viv, your notoriously fearless leaders of CCSC.

10:59 pm
Ben: Oh crap! We forgot to send an email about CCSC!
Viv: Are you sure we did anything this week?
B: I don’t know! All of the meetings are running together…
V: Crap.
B: But we still have to send an email.
V: We do?
B: Yes! It’s one of the few things we promised in our campaign.
V: I don’t think we promised that.
B: We promised meeting minutes!
V: …on Facebook.
B: We didn’t say anything about an email?
V: Nope.
B: I think we still have to send one.
V: Is it in the bylaws?

11:53 pm
V: We’ve been looking for almost an hour. I don’t think it’s in the bylaws.
B: Me neither, but not sending an email would feel…dirty.
V: Fine, we’ll write the damn email.
B: Ok. Good.
V: Did we do anything in CCSC?
B: I told you I can’t remember.
V: Let’s just check the minutes.

12:15 am
V: Why aren’t the minutes on Facebook?
B: That’s literally one of the only things we promised!
V: I know! Who controls the Facebook page?
B: Just email everyone on CCSC. They won’t mind.

12:17 am
B: I think I accidentally emailed the whole school.
V: Fuck, again?
B: Yea.
V: Does that mean we don’t have to send an email about the meeting?
B: I’m pretty sure we still need to do that.
V: Damn.

12:37 am
B: I think we should have a theme.
V: What?
B: A theme. For the email.
V: What the fuck are you talking about?
B: Like, make it Halloween themed.
V: We’re not using gifs.
B: Chill, we don’t have to.
V: We don’t have to have a theme?
B: No, we don’t have to have gifs. I think we need a theme.
V: Fine.

1:14 am
V: You misspelled “spooky.”
B: No, it’s a thing.
V: And “creepy.”
B: Dude, no, leave it alone.
V: No one is going to get it.
B: They don’t have to.
V: This whole email is pointless.
B: That’s harsh.

1:20 am
V: I’m sorry that I said the email was pointless.
B: It’s ok.

1:22 am
B: Should we make a Deantini reference?
V: Too soon.

1:49 am
B: I think it’s perfect.
V: Me too.
B: Should we send it?
V: Wait! It needs something else.
B: You just agreed that it was perfect.
V: I changed my mind.
B: It’s just an email!
V: Hey now…
B: What could it possibly need?
V: I think we should make a video.
B: What?!
V: Let’s make a video and add it to the email.
B: It’s not the worst idea we’ve had…

4:01 am
V: Did it upload?
B: Yea, it’s ready. Adding it to the email now.
V: Hit send. I’m tired.
B: Uh oh.
V: What?
B: “File too big to attach.”
V: You’re kidding.
B: It’s fine, we’ll just cut it down.

4:40 am
B: Still says, “File too big to attach.”
V: We have to just send it without the video.
B: What? No!
V: Yes. We have to.
B: But…
V: We’ll save the video for a rainy day. Then we can share it on Facebook.
B: Alright.
V: Send the email.
B: Ok. Done.
V: Good.
B: I have to tell you something.
V: What?
B: I added a shoutout to Deantini.
