"the current: journal of contemporary politics, culture, and jewish affairs."

i've had numerous affairs with jewish girls during my sinful academic career at columbia, and still haven't seen my name show up once in that journal. shoddy, irresponsible journalism, if you ask me.

  5. um,

i still read animorphs above my covers, because they are that awesome

  6. The cover

is priceless. I saw the original on display =)

Can you explain the cover and what it parodies? I can't place it but it looks very familiar...

      • It's part

of a two(?) panel comic entitled "Superman commits suicide" or something very similar. The original panels were on display at the Jewish Museum, during a comic art exhibition - which may or may not still be going on.

Called 'Superman's Suicide.' By Chris Ware, who did the Jimmy Corrigan graphic novel. It has at least three panels. The Current front cover displayed one, the back cover displayed another, but there are even more that explain\hint at why Superman committed suicide.

The two panels are actually part of the graphic novel Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth by Chris Ware. And sadly, the comics exhibition closed in January.
