@holy shit anthony kelley’s article is dumb.
@anthony kelley “These allegations of plagiarism, some claim, are continuations of the historical devaluation of black womanhood and should be recognized as such.”
NO. THEY. AREN’T.
this is the kind of stupid stupid hyper-liberal bullshit that’s going to kill civilization. the fact that sentiments this idiotic aren’t viciously mocked and attacked by all saddens me, and people who express opinions like this need to be ostracized from society.
@wow... I thought those quotes were sarcastic when I first read them…
@more Kelley “Imagine a forum in which Professor Constantine and her accusers engage in the life-sustaining practice of dialogue, actively listening to each other’s concerns and extending heart-felt compassion in understanding each other’s pain. Imagine the reconciliation that could arise from such a space. Imagine the impact such a forum would have on our community. Instead of just giving lip-service to the idea of dialogue, we would be demonstrating its importance and effectiveness, even when it is difficult and uncomfortable. Imagine an end to the lies. Imagine embracing truth. Imagine healing.”
@Anthony Kelley's columns get dumber every time.
“Let us assume for a moment that Professor Constantine plagiarized the work of others. Instead of punishing (or “sanctioning”) her, we should be making special efforts to extend compassion to her and those who feel wounded as a result of her actions. We should be having community dialogues to emphasize the importance of academic honesty. At the same time, we should critique the environment of competitiveness here at Columbia that only breeds dishonesty and mistrust.”

@MTA I don’t quite get how a company that ran up a $50 million surplus in 2005-06, and found it prudent to give half-rate fares to spend off that surplus, and renegotiated it’s labor pay packets so that they are now paying their workers less, is going to get a huge boost in revenues from congestion pricing, can STILL find it necessary to hike rates beyond their already high current levels. Surely someone needs to tell them that their management sucks?
@Correction “service upgrades on 11 subway lines in all five boroughs”
As far as I know, only four of the five boroughs have subways (not Staten Island).
@Further Proof that Kulawik’s complaints about the Dems’ campaign trip are unfounded.
@shapiro... hahaha, shapiro’s quote in the obama/clinton article is hilarious: “If the pope should decide to say that Jews do sometimes eat Christian babies, but ‘I am not speaking as the pope when I say that,’ you’re never not speaking as the pope.”
