If you need a little confidence boost in this tough midterm season, Barnard offers a mantra that can’t be repeated enough: “don’t forget you are beautiful!” This banner in a Sulzberger Hall elevator wants you to know that even though you haven’t showered in a week, you’re wearing the sweatshirt you found on the floor of your chem lab, and you’re foaming at the mouth, you look good while you’re doing it.
Of course, it all depends on where you get your inspiration from. More photos from Dorm Detective Julia Mix Barrington after the jump, if you’re holed up in a library and can’t make it there yourself.

@alright i’m usually a cynic, but this made me smile… must be the immense lack of sleep. this is definitely why i love barnard.
@asdf man.. that must make the ugly girls feel bad
@huh I guess this sums up the difference between barnard and columbia.
compare to this found in a columbia dorm elevator: http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/3218/pict0453t.jpg
@would there be unicorns too?!
@No. Unicorns don’t taste good.
@first! Now we just need to wait for some terrible Barnard jokes to be posted.
@I'd like to note That the Barnard jokes here:
http://www.wikicu.com/Barnard_Jokes#List_of_common_Barnard_jokes
Are seriously lacking.
We’ve had 120 years and this is really the best we can do? For shame.
@uhm actually it would be 26 years, considering that the only women at columbia were barnard students until 1983 and therefore there were no insecure people across the street needing to find someone to pick on when they were feeling inferior.
@Strike that Reverse it You know when you said insecure people across the street I thought you were talking about Barnard students and their chip on the ol’ shoulder until I came to the punch at the end. I think it’s silly, but thanks for making that the most surprising sentence I’ve read so far this week.
@SHE DOESN’T EVEN GO HERE

@I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat it and be happy…
