Sunday Sports Roundup

After the men’s cross country team’s victory at the Heptagonal Championships and the football team’s last-minute loss to Yale, Columbia athletics fought through another sporting weekend both good and bad.

Volleyball rallied from two sets down against Harvard on Friday, but fell, 3-2, and yesterday struggled against Dartmouth, losing by three sets to one. They’ll take on Penn and Princeton at home next weekend.

Men’s soccer took a promising first-half lead against Yale at Baker on Saturday, but conceded the next two for a 2-1 loss, dropping to 2-3 in Ivy League play. The team will travel to Adelphi Tuesday for their last non-league game of the season.

Women’s soccer also took an early lead against a strong Yale eleven and commanded the run of play to hold on for the victory. They’ll finish their season next Saturday against Harvard.
