The Columbia University Wind Ensemble is hosting its second annual Columbia Festival of Winds on Sunday, March 7th, to raise money for a music-education program called Making Music Matter. Different ensembles, including the Jambalaya Brass Band, the Lesbian and Gay Big Apple Corps (who have played at presidential inaugurations), and internationally renowned jazz trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, are playing to help us support inner-city music education. Tickets are $5 with a student ID, $15 general admission, $30 for VIP seats (http://cuarts.com/calendar/view/type/4/event_id/4875) and the concert runs from 2-10pm in Roone.
