The former Gateway (now Botwinick) Lab on Mudd 12 will be transformed into a “hacker space” tonight at 7 for aspiring tech-entrepreneurs. Student developers and SEAS kids with a dream and some elbow grease will meet to plan and work on ideas.

@You Nerds! This is awesome!
@omfg rededication was so 4 years ago
@lol gateway
@Alum The lab was originally called the Botwinick Gateway Laboratory. I don’t think Botwinick’s name was ever taken off. If it was, it shouldn’t have been. And afaik, the word “Gateway” was just descriptive; I don’t think Gateway Computers ever made a naming gift.
(My catchpa: “University rectienc”, whatever that means.)
@Different alum Yes, Gateway Computers of cow spots fame had nothing to do with the lab. The original machines were from SGI – very nice IRIX boxes at the time.
Neither of those companies is around any more: PORTENTIOUS.
@ah the cow spots. Those were the days.
@... bum ba dump dump… yowwwwwwww..
@Different alum Both brands live on as ghosts… owned by others.
@Brandon Yanofsky I really wish I could go to this!
