Tonight, Lerner Party Space will hold its second drag-themed dance of the year (so far), the Fantasy Ball! The Fantasy Ball is part of IvyQ 2011, a conference for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and allied students from across the Ivy League hosted by Columbia this weekend. IvyQ includes lots of interesting conferences and seminars on LGBTQA issues, but those are restricted to conference registrants ($15), the purple-shirted people you can see wandering around campus and getting highly inaccurate ideas of what Columbia is like in February.
Lucky for you, fair readers, the dance is open to everyone, though tickets cost $5 (there’s going to be a drag workshop and costume contest), and your friends from NYU (sans CUID) have to RSVP to the Facebook group. The organizers say they’re not planning to sell that many tickets at the door, but don’t let that stop you from living out your fantasies! The dance starts at 11:00, doors at 10:30.

@logan slaughter??? wow…can’t believe logan slaughter graced us with her presence! haha.
@shy freshman the ball was so beautiful. I felt free at last.
@Pronoun correction: Logan was, if I’m not much mistaken, taking female pronouns that night. So your caption is incorrect.
@Claire Duly noted.
@Anonymous it take Creativity, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent.
@Concerned gay male Its things like drag that give a bad name to gay people.
@Anonyrat It is things like hating that give a bad name to haters.
@that's a little harsh Pretty sure the bad name comes from the whole cock-rubbing; not how college kids act on Friday night.
As a more quiet, beer-loving, sitcom-watching gay guy I’ll never step foot in there, it’s just not my thing (if I was so into thewoman form, I’d still be f*cking it) but a bunch of people I’ll never hang out with want to dress up like homely broad-shouldered hookers and act slutty, who cares?
That’s half the sororities on any given Thursday (yeah, I said it)
@Anonymous Why have I not met you? <3
@Rupaul Gentlemen, start your engines… and may the best woman win!
@Anonymous And DON’T fuck it up.
@it's SHANGELA You say a drag workshop? Well, halleloo!
@Lady Gaga “Don’t be a drag, just be a queen.”
