CSA Advisor Lindsay Sage sent out this email inviting students to participate in her upcoming acupressure workshop. If you’re interested, make haste—registration is nearly over!
Hi All,
Many of you know that I teach yoga and know a bit about other forms of wellness (e.g. qigong, nutrition, meditation). CSA has agreed to let me pilot a health and wellness program in our space. I’d love for you to join the event below, which as of now is only open to a select number of advisees. So please be my guinea pigs (and invite your friends too)!
Is the pressure on?
Back from Spring Break and there’s all this work to do? Learn three simple acupressure points to reduce headaches and nausea while stimulating energy.
When does the fun begin? Friday, March 25 from 11AM-12PM
Where? 403 Lerner
This sounds kind of crazy. Who’s teaching this class? All courses will be taught by Lindsay Sage, CSA Advising Dean (and Yoga Instructor/ Resident Hippie)
Allright, I’m in! How do I sign up? By RSVP’ing to Lindsay at ls2680@columbia.edu by Wednesday, March 23. Because of space constraints, only the first 25 people can attend, so email to reserve your spot now!

@Anonymous That was almost clever….however:
1) What makes Ms. Sage thinks she knows anything? What makes you think she knows anything?
2) It’s not nutrition that’s the problem—it’s nutritionism: I’ll let you educate yourself http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2005/jun/02/badscience
@James Randi “Many of you know that I teach yoga and know a bit about other forms of wellness (e.g. qigong, nutrition, meditation). ”
That fact that this is advertised at Columbia University makes me sick to my stomach…
@Anonymous because nutrition is bad and scary!

@apples, meet oranges Nutritionism might well be the problem. And, you know, if she’d used the word nutritionism, perhaps you’d have a point. But she didn’t.
And wellness is a word widely used.
@into to logic hmmmm….a discrepancy between what a person says and does? Is it possible one person’s nutrition is another’s nutritionism? (I mean, really, everybody graps this: one person’s trash, another’s treasure, etc. etc. ) Again, why would anyone dare to trust this person with their personal health? Does she have an MD? You really think she knows what she’s doing?!?
wellness is a word widely used by quacks who don’t have MDs and think they know something—usually they don’t understand the harm they’re capable of….
@LINDSAY she is my advisor. I love her
@Anonymous i know an acupressure technique – it’s called masturbation.
