@Sry but not even James Franco’s hottness qualifies him to teach at Columbia.
@alum and former soldier Good for Kelley. His article highlights the most important aspect of officership that I think gets shortshrift in the ROTC debates: the intense human dimension of the young officer’s responsibility for and relationship with his or her troops. Kelley’s Marines’ lives and by extension the well-being of their families are depending on Kelley’s character, judgement, and competence. The person that Columbia has taught him to be is going to be tested in ways that most graduates will never experience.
