At 9:55 am this morning, Bwog received an anonymous tip that a massive banner had just been unfurled from the windows of Butler that read, “It’s going to be OK. You’re not alone.”
Before we had a chance to document this magnanimous act, at 10:03 am the same tipster reported that the poster had been taken down. Although we can’t do the majesty of this gesture justice, Bwog just wanted to make sure you knew this happened. Neither Public Safety nor Facilities knew anything about the incident, each referring us to the other. No one at Butler could be reached for comment either.

@Anonymous hey bwog, this piece is neither clever nor creative. please try to put more effort into supporting and fostering a community at columbia
@Anonymous I saw this very poster on the first floor of Altschul at Barnard!
@cynic Doesnt that look just like what bwog put out last year at finals to amuse us when we got to change around the banner of Butler? Put up things like Fuck bitches, get money, or things of the like? Replace Plato’s name with your own? Yeah… you cant fool me
@Anonymous I think you just fooled yourself by not reading carefully.
@Anonymous Yeah, get a brain, moran. Go USA!
@CC '12 Can I just saw THANK YOU to the person(s) who put the banner out, and to Bwog for writing the article. Also thank you to the bwog and spec writers who have been recently vocal about sadness on our campus, like Wilfred Chan, Sarah Ngu, Caroline Blosser, and Eric Nook! I’m proud to go here right now.
@barnard There are tons of neon posters with this same message all over Barnard’s campus. It’s a optimistic revolution aaaah

@thats because the columbia company only cares about how its seen, not how the students are doing. People breaking down is a typical event, yet the admin seems to care more about how space is kept rather than letting us create a community of support or anything that might make us smile. We are just the meat in a grinder. Which is a shame because the student body is filled with awesome people! Let students act like students!
@Typical Columbia.
Students make a touching show of mutual support, only for a faceless and unaccountable bureaucratic entity to shut it down without comment.
Columbia: this is how you piss off alumni.
@I? I walk alone;
The midnight street
Spins itself from under my feet;
When my eyes shut
These dreaming houses all snuff out;
Through a whim of mine
Over gables the moon’s celestial onion
Hangs high.
I
Make houses shrink
And trees diminish
By going far; my look’s leash
Dangles the puppet-people
Who, unaware how they dwindle,
Laugh, kiss, get drunk,
Nor guess that if I choose to blink
They die.
I
When in good humor,
Give grass its green
Blazon sky blue, and endow the sun
With gold;
Yet, in my wintriest moods, I hold
Absolute power
To boycott any color and forbid any flower
To be.
I
Know you appear
Vivid at my side,
Denying you sprang out of my head,
Claiming you feel
Love fiery enough to prove flesh real,
Though it’s quite clear
All you beauty, all your wit, is a gift, my dear,
From me.
@Cool poem, bro Whenever I feel consumed by hatred for the people at Columbia, I try to keep in mind that they’re all just figments of my imagination!
