The CU Students for Sensible Drug Policy invite you to a round-table discussion on the ‘Opium Trade in Afghanistan: Human Rights, Security and Public Health.’ Colonel Louis H. Jordan Jr., NYU’s Jake Sherman and journalist John Duncan will discuss how Afghanistan’s lucrative drug trade jeopardizes social and political stability. Free samples are probably out of the question, but the opiate of the hungry Columbian masses (pizza) will be served at 6:30 pm in 1501, International Affairs Building. The event follows at 7:00 pm.

@Anonymous It’s actually surprisingly easy to make opium. Here’s how you do it:
1. You boil poppy seed pods.
That’s it. Now you have opium tea. There’s nothing more to it. You don’t need special “opium” poppies (although different varieties might have different potency). You don’t need special opium harvesting techniques. You don’t need a special climate to grow them.
There are books about this. If you’re interested, see Opium For the Masses, by Jim Hogshire, for example.
