Over four months since the project’s announcement, Columbia EcoReps revealed their beautiful new composter, which resides in the basement of Ruggles. Lovingly dubbed The Rocket, the composter is a first for urban universities and colleges in America. It will start out feeding on scraps from John Jay, then, just like a freshman, upgrade to adult food next September. By which we mean, it will start to rely on the scraps that other people feed it. Welcome to college, little Rocket.
