Huawei and ZTE, two of the biggest Chinese telecommunications companies, have been classified as national threats by a congressional committee. The House Intelligence Committee claims it was because of the companies’ attempts to extract information from American companies and their loyalty to the Chinese government. (NYTimes)

Mythbusters settles the age-(more like 14 years)-old debate: Jack and Rose may both have been able to survive the Titanic’s sinking. But only if they had placed Rose’s life vest under the raft to avoid them sinking into the cold water. Really would have ruined the movie though. (EW)

They picked a writer for the Fifty Shades of Grey film. We can only hope that the screenplay is as subtle, sophisticated, and eloquent as the original, and that Emma Watson and Ryan Gosling won’t disappoint. (CNN)

Replace Twilight with 50 Shades of Grey and this is both accurate and relevant.
