At 11:50, Public Safety informed the Columbia community that the suspect’s car had been located on 123rd street, but the suspect was nowhere to be found. Police are now searching for him “in the vicinity of 121st street and Broadway.” There are also helicopters flying over campus, helping with the manhunt.
So if see a man running down Broadway while you’re going to Joe’s, you might want to call the police.
Update, 3:45 pm: According to Gothamist, this was quite an ordeal involving a shootout with the police and a stolen cop car. By Public Safety’s last alert, the suspect has been identified but not yet found.
