Tonight at 7 pm in the Levien Gym, the volleyball team will have their Ivy League home opener match against UPenn. Tonight’s match is the team’s Breast Cancer Awareness game. The first 200 fans will get pink t-shirts and Fairway market is donating $1 to the Herbert Irving Cancer Center for every fan in attendance. So basically it’s for your and everyone else’s best interest to get out there. It’s Student Rewards Night, so there will be mystery prizes like iPods or gift certificates. And there should be Insomnia Cookies! It’s a free-thing-palooza!
You can catch the team again tomorrow at 5 pm against Princeton.

@Anonymous Is there anything left?
@Anonymous Am I the only one who thinks it a bit silly that we are forced to pay for ipods and other expensive stuff for completely non-academic purposes? I’m not trying to hate athletics or anything, but my schedule and interests mean I will probably never go to a game, and I think this is true for many others here.
@You're not forced to pay for these things.
The athletics department has many more substantial sources of funding besides a portion of your student life fee, which is only used to keep Dodge functioning and available to you and your fellow students. One iPod isn’t breaking the bank, it’s there to drum up more support for our athletes who would love it if you could find time to go to an event sometime.
@Umm it doesnt cost more than $400 per student a semester to fund dodge. besides, its always cramped because of the excess of grad students who feel like they are soooo entitled to hog all the equipment. give me back my athletics portion of my student life fee and ill happily sign up for an upscale gym in midtown
