Heads up everybody! Tonight, “three of Brooklyn’s most interesting indie cartoonists” are coming to Columbia for “a discussion of their work, their process, their origins, and their future.”
Titled, “Brooklyn Comes to Morningside Heights”, this is the last Comics@Columbia event of the Fall semester, and will be held in Butler Library room 523 at 6pm. The panel consists of:
- Dash Shaw who is not only a prolific cartoonist who plays interestingly with form and color as part of the narrative process, but is also an animator.
- Gabrielle Bell, who has made films with Michel Gondry, and is probably one of the top diary-comic cartoonists today.
- And Lisa Hanawalt who does really smart funny odd comics.
Hosted by the marvelous graphic novel librarians of Butler, this event is sure to be filled with mystery and excitement. If that doesn’t do it for you, there will also be book sales and signing, and of course, light refreshments will be served.
