Dear seniors, friends of seniors, and those who wish they were seniors: It’s time for one of our greatest traditions to return: we’re starting our call for Senior Wisdoms. For freshpersons/transfers/people who hate joy, Senior Wisdoms are an annual feature where we ask outgoing seniors to share the knowledge and advice they’ve culled from their four years at Columbia. Responses are inevitably hilarious, slightly dangerous, extremely insightful, and generally awesome (not to mention a fantastic procrastinatory tool during finals weeks). Here’s how it works:
- Nominate a graduating senior who you think is a fantastic human being and should have their wise words shared with the general public.
- Email wisdom@bwog.com with (a) some basic information about your friend, and (b) why you think they should get a senior wisdom (think personal qualities rather than their résumé).
If they make the cut, we’ll get in touch with them while you sit back and bask in how funny/right about life your classmates are. A huge number of nominations come in each year, so move quickly—and give some great reasons for part (b)—to see your friends’ names up in lights! We’ll also be a little more selective this year; no pouting. Love, Bwog

Anywho, put on your big kid pants, please. It’s fine if you don’t jive well with certain people; part of the brilliance of autonomy is that you get to choose to not associate with them. But don’t be a fucking puerile prick and verbally abuse and bully these people, I mean HOLY FUCK. I don’t even particularly care for either Peter or Rakhi, but they don’t seem like terrible people–slightly misguided and overenthusiastic perhaps, but they never killed anyone or spat in your coffee (or at least not in mine lol).
If Peter is a “faux feminist,” then tell him why what he is doing and saying is wrong. Or shit, more easily, simply direct him to online literature which will do all of the work for you BECAUSE THERE IS A TON OF IT. If Rakhi is too sincere then respectfully let her know when she violates the arbitrary unspoken social decorum. It’s pretty fucking simple, people. This is Columbia; a good portion of the people who go here, as a byproduct of being nerds their whole lives, never developed acceptable social skills. Just fuckin’ teach em, yeesh.
This is supposed to be a university of intelligent and mature individuals. Why tf can we never act like it. One of the reasons I can’t wait to GET THE FUCK UP OUT OF THIS SHITHOLE.

@Bob and Rakhi I don’t know about Peter, but Bob and Rakhi have given so much to this university over the past 4 years. You don’t know Bob because he doesn’t try to gain recognition, unlike other, attention-seeking ‘leaders’ on campus.

@Guy Skelding has shat on I personally think Conor is annoying and writes unnecessarily critical articles. Hell, he’s a dick. He wrote about me once in an unflattering way. But at least he has the courage to stick his name where his mouth is, unlike you. I respect that.
He’s taken lots of shit for bwog, while the other people pussyfoot around without taking credit for what they write. I hear he doesn’t write for them these days, but doesn’t he deserve to get a little boost from a Senior Wisdom anyway?

for the record, putting your name on your own “journalism” should not be applaudable, it should be a basic requirement… I’ve always been confused as to why bwog doesn’t require that of all its posts.
