Everyone’s favorite act from Bacchanal 2013, Morningsiders, have released a new studio recording of their hit “Empress” in addition to a handful of new songs on their Soundcloud. The band has also been featured to accompany the dulcet tones of Oprah Winfrey to promote her new, more expensive but basically the same as usual, chai latte for Starbucks. Check out the video below (although if you haven’t heard Morningsiders before, Bwog highly suggests that you give them a listen sans Oprah).

@can i please be invited to their bed
@Anonymous don’t like the new studio version, chorus is not as good as it used to be. good song overall
@boring is probably A bitter indie hipster or jazz musician that can’t write music
@boring no, i’m just a member of the columbia music scene who finds it frustrating (but not surprising), that of all the talented musicians & bands on campus–-many of whom can and do write circles around Morningsiders in terms of interesting songwriting–the ones who get recognized are the ones making boring music, like Morningsiders or Flaxo. i guess in that sense i am a biter indie hipster, actually. ok.
@the wize 1 sayz a rocker plays 4 chords in front of 4,000 people. a jazzman plays 4,000 chords in front of 4 people.
@Anonymous the butthurt is strong with this one
@Anonymous ugh this attitude is the most annoyingly prevalent thing amongst kids in the “columbia music community,” of which I guess I am a reluctant member. morningsiders have done literally 0 to harm anybody else’s shot at “success,” whatever that means, so why expend energy making insubstantial online attacks at them? i think we could have a really cool music scene here but people are so damn competitive.
@boring can’t help but feel that a Starbucks ad is the most appropriate place for their music.
@wow empressive accomplishment
@This is pretty damn cool
