@anon People complaining about the lack of a blizzard or that NYC overreacted need to stop. Better to reinforce your pants with three belts than to be caught with your pants down just in case a blizzard or a hurricane does come. And you also can’t forget that just because it wasn’t bad here, other places in New England and in New York State got hit pretty fucking hard. To the point where heat and power was lost. That could have been us. We lucked out. Stop making it sound like was some silly reaction.
@new yorker You aren’t from around here, I guess.
The subway has never been closed for a blizzard. Sandy was a unique weather event with 15-foot storm surges which flooded the tracks. There was NEVER the chance that this storm would do the same. It’s just snow.
It was bipartisan failure by Christie, Cuomo and DeBlasio, All three are dying to look competent, when the public knows different. This overreaction just cemented what people know about all three.
And wait ’til the bills come in for all the overtime for just 7 inches of snow.
