Although his criminal status will most likely lead to lengthy prison time and sans a stint on “death row,” Marion ‘Suge’ Knight (the former CEO of Death Row Records) was charged yesterday with both murder and attempted murder. The prosecution asserts that the incident was pre-meditated following an argument between the three, while the defense claims that the former rap mogul accidentally killed one man and seriously injured the other while fleeing a “vicious attack.” (NY Times)
“Rap can be nasty.” These words were released by an employer of a Christian radio station in Florida after discovering that an unlicensed broadcaster has been airing uncensored rap music on local nonprofit, religious, and public broadcasting stations. (WPTV.com)
This past week, Lil Wayne announced that he was suing his rap label, Cash Money, for $51 million. Wayne asked to nullify contracts with the company, citing issues with the release of his album Tha Carter V as the final straw in a deteriorating relationship with the label. (USA Today)
