Student council elections took place earlier this week, and the winners have been announced. Benjamin Makansi and Vivek Ramakrishnan won President and VP Policy, respectively, for CCSC Executive Board in the Freedom, Liberty, and Freedom Party, ousting current CCSC President Peter Bailinson. For the remainder of the board, Sameer Mishra won VP Finance; Grayson Warrick won VP Communications; and Kelly Echavarria won VP Campus Life. All three ran with Bailinson and Abby Porter in the It Takes Two Party. Sean Ryan and Marc Heinrich won for University Senate, as well.

@Anonymous not a secret that True Blue played dirty to win. Right from filing violations that weren’t needed to promising positions to people for votes
@Sad Engineering Student Oh lord. I hope ESC doesn’t burn itself to the ground…
Every member incumbent member Delta SEAS puts over 10 hours a week into council, the council members in BitNB don’t do nearly as much work. This is such a sad loss.
@anon They make take our GPA, but they will never take our freedom!!!!!!!!
@A Bit Annoyed I respect Ezra and Lani, but their choice to hand out free columbia merchandise paid for with their CCSC budget days before the election was a blatant campaign move. It may not be illegal, but this underhanded behavior shouldn’t be allowed in student elections. It makes me even more angry that this happened and the race ended up being so close.
@Umm Is it anymore legal that itt gave out brownies and ended their conversations by asking people to vote for them?
@Anonymous every party is allowed to host a meet and greet with food
@anon Alright but they offered people brownies if they’d explicitly vote for them. They had computers out and we’re trying to convince people to vote for them on the spot. It was never “hey you should vote in the CCSC election!” instead it was “hey you should vote for US in the CCSC election- we have computers for you to vote right here!”
@Computer Guy Get rid of the embedded Scribd doc and just give us a direct link to the PDF. This page is shit.

@Observations 1. Did Chris George get a vote of no confidence? Don’t see anything about Pre-professional rep.
2. CCSC E-Board is now 3/5 Beta Hahah
@CC Freedom, fuck yeah!
@Come on, people let’s see some snarkier comments, please
@The Columbian Barnyard isn’t a part of Columbia.
@The Right People Won For the most part, the right individuals won tonight. CCSC needs a new direction and ESC needs to stay its course. The class of 2016’s strongest is represented in these roles and I’m excited to see what the new leadership can accomplish.
@Doom ESC Needs to stay on course? Columbia just voted out everyone in ESC that was running it!
@Anonymous So True Blue gets posts in CCSC AGAIN? Fml.
@How How do I view this on my phone? Pls advise
