Midterms are still in full swing, and as work piles up, any unexpected complication can feel overwhelming. Whether that means suddenly catching the flu or going through a breakup, this playlist is here to commiserate with you (and if you’re simply just stressed out by midterms, that’s fine too!!).

  1. Flesh without Blood by Grimes – The latest from Grimes–we’re really feeling the part of the video where she stabs herself in the abdomen.
  2. No Police by Doja Cat – “Pop a couple xannies for me quick”–the kind of anxiety relief that midterms put you in the mood for.
  3. Wus Good / Curious by PARTYNEXTDOOR – Let PND reassure you that you’re beautiful even when it’s 4am in Butler and you haven’t showered in days.
  4. Elegy to the Void by Beach House – We feel the title is self-explanatory.
  5. Sorry by Justin Bieber – For when your exclusive (?) FWB won’t stop texting you apologies for hooking up with a random first year at Cannons–like, it’s Tuesday, and we’re tryna study for our Data Structures midterm!! (Take note, though–don’t hook up with people who frequent Cannons).
  6. No Romance by Tirzah – See above.
  7. Party Favors by Tinashe feat. Young Thug – Tinashe teams up with Illangelo (best known for producing The Weeknd’s mixtapes) for a darker sound reminiscent of late fall nights.
  8. Ocean by Dream Koala feat. Soko – For those times when you’d rather be “at the bottom of the ocean” than working on another problem set. (Just kidding, Mom and Dad!!)
  9. Scholarships by Drake & Future – We’ve definitely been caught muttering “And I rock [Columbia] blue on these hoes” to ourselves recently–we blame the feverish hallucinations/sleep deprivation!
  10. Beyond Love by Beach House – For contemplative walks through Riverside after your boyfriend breaks up with you right before midterms.
  11. Get Away by The Internet – Fall Break is so close!
  12. Nightmusic by Grimes feat. Majical Cloudz – “Tonight’s the night / [We’re] waiting til the end” … of all our commitments so we can watch The X-Files in bed all day.
  13. False Hope by Laura Marling – A somewhat ~spooky~ song with references to the UWS, insomnia, and false hope–sounds like the Columbia Experience!
  14. Days of Candy by Beach House – It’s okay–take a nap on one of the lawns. It won’t be long until it’s too cold.
