As we all know by now, winter storm Jonas is coming for us, and our relatives are concerned! Here are some texts we’ve received from well-meaning parents that have served only to increase our dread:

A pearl of wisdom received via phone call:
“Buy bread and lunch meat.”

Only the essentials, Mom!

At least one of our parents has a cheerful word, though:
“I heard there’s some snow coming! That’s going to be so fun!” -Mom
