The Whitney has just announced the 63 artists who will be featured in the Whitney Biennial on March 17. The artists are notably diverse; coming on the heels of the election period, their artwork will deal with “the artist or a self in relation to the tumultuous world we live in.” (New York Times)

In Egypt, after General Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi led a coup to overthrow the Islamic Brotherhood-held government headed by Muhammad Morsi, hundreds of the Brotherhood’s members were killed or imprisoned; Morsi and other leaders were sentenced to death.
