After meeting with President Obama earlier this week, President-elect Donald Trump stated that he is planning to improve upon health care instead of repealing the Affordable Care Act completely. Trump plans on keeping two fundamental parts of the Affordable Care Act, “one that forces insurers to cover people with pre-existing health conditions and another that allows parents to cover children under their plan into their mid-20s.” (The New York Times)
A judge recently ordered that bottled water is to be sent to Flint, Michigan. More than a year later, citizens are still facing “immediate danger” due to lead contamination that has plagued the town. (Wall Street Journal)
Facebook has mistakenly memorialized several users on their website on Friday. Users reported that they were being “killed off” by the site despite the fact that they are, in fact, still breathing. Facebook stated that the “terrible error” was due to a bug. (Huffington Post)
The weather phenomenon La Niña is beginning to effect parts of the southern United States. La Niña is expected to bring warm and dry conditions to areas that are already suffering to drought. It will also bring wetter conditions to the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest. (Scientific American)
