Reaching: New York City mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that he will be creating a task force to help decrease domestic violence in New York City. While the homicide rate has halved within the past fifteen years, his ambitious plan will combat domestic abuse that continues at persistent rate. As part of the smooth transition between presidencies, Obama has called upon the leaders to keep an open dialogue regarding foreign policy and maintain security ties with the United States and with President-elect Trump. Reaching: MSNBC has reported that the world is experiencing the worst migrant crisis since World War II. There are currently 19.5 million refugees, about the size of the New York State population that are currently displaced. Trump plans to send $11 million undocumented immigrants out of the country in his presidency, stating, “We have no choice.” (MSNBC)
