Track and Field: This weekend, 22 Columbia athletes competed in the IC4A/ECAC Championships in Boston to end the official track & field season. Some women’s highlights include Kali Hatcher’s first place triple jump, Bianca Alonzo who placed third in 1000m run, and Simone Kirton who also placed third in 60m hurdles. Some men’s highlights include the second place win for the distance medley relay team consisting of Jacob Caswell, Vasilis Copanas, Solomon Rice, and Owen Bishop, as well as third place wins for both Jackson Storey in the 800m run and Jack Pihlkar in weight throw.

Softball: The softball team spent the weekend at the Purple & Gold Invitational in North Carolina  where they lost 5 games to UMass (5-0), ECU (11-0), Winthrop (5-4), ECU (6-2), and UMass (10-2).

Basketball: Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams beat Brown on Friday night. The men’s game ended with a score of 80-77 in Rhode Island, while the women won solidly with a score of 93-62 in Levien Gymnasium here at Columbia. The men also had a successful Saturday, beating Yale 83-75 in New Haven, but unfortunately, the women lost their Yale game with a score of 67-54.

Men’s Swimming and Diving: The men finished the 2019 Ivy League Championships on Saturday where two school records were broken, and Columbia took 4th place in team standings. The Columbia record for 200 free was broken by junior Nian-Guo Liu with a time of 1:35.20, and the 400 medley relay record was broken by Cole Stevens, Nian-Guo Liu, Jonas Kistorp, and Albert Gwo with a time of 3:10.21. Jonathan Suckow’s diving performance was a huge contributor to the team’s success, as he was named the Karl B. Michael High Point Diver of the Meet.

Baseball: This weekend, the baseball team lost four games to Oklahoma (12-3, 9-1, 9-0, 6-2).

Lacrosse: The women’s lacrosse team lost on Saturday to Princeton (19-1). 

Tennis: The women’s tennis team beat Penn State on Saturday afternoon (eighth match win in a row ! ), while the men’s team beat Tulane 7-0.
