New York City is packed with amazing culture and inspiring art, but sometimes it’s difficult to break the Morningside-bubble and experience it all first-hand. “Where Art Thou” is a weekly guide to interesting and notable lectures, events, and performances for the literary/musically/theatrically-inclined on campus.

On Campus:

• ANNE CARSON. IS COMING TO BARNARD. ON WEDNESDAY. AND YOU CAN SEE THE GREATEST CLASSICIST AND POET OF THIS CENTURY. FOR FREE! AT BARNARD HALL. 7 PM.
• On Thursday at 8, check out Raw Elementz’s – Columbia’s longest-running hip-hop group – in Rawcus 360°, with guest performances from Onyx, CU Gen, and more. Tickets $5 with CUID.
• This Thursday through Saturday, see Latenite’s Spring 2019 Anthology at Lerner Black Box if you’re a “cooool girl”, “luuv your corporate office job,” or just want to see some free student-written comedy. Tickets here.
• Friday through Sunday, strap on your ballet shoes and get medieval at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center: CUBE is doing Don Quixote. Tickets from $10.

Off Campus:

• Monday at 6:30 PM, head to the Brooklyn Historical Society for Artists Resisting Gentrification: a conversation with artists and academics on how artists can take action on behalf of their communities, and against gentrification. $5 admission.
• Are you taking full advantage of your free Met access? Don’t forget about Sunday at the Met, where you can learn about the Met’s vast collections from experts. This Sunday at 2 PM, check out The Tale of Genji: A Japanese Classic Illuminated. A curator and a professor of Japanese Art will lead you through the rich artistic tradition inspired by the world’s first novel. Including a musical performance!
