e’s Bar, the relatively new Columbia nightlife spot near campus, has suddenly closed.
After just over a year of operation, e’s Bar on Broadway between 112th and 113th has suddenly closed. According to a picture published by the West Side Rag, e’s Bar’s original location on Amsterdam between 84th and 85th will remain open. e’s moved into the space where Amigos once was.
Bwog has reached out to e’s Bar, and we will update when we hear back.
Update 9:50 PM: Find e’s Bar’s statement on their closing below:
We loved being a part of the Columbia and Morningside Heights community. We had a successful year but unfortunately not successful enough. Please come see us at our Amsterdam location. We will miss everyone.

@Anonymous You’d walk past, look in, and things seemed dead at all hours.
Not a promising business model.
@Anonymous They were overpriced. Hopefully a more reasonably priced place will replace them.
@Anonymous WOW who would have thought a bar charging $8 for a beer wouldn’t survive in neighborhood with a bunch of college students.
@Michael Fabulously wealthy college students…
