In light of the fatal incident in Morningside Park last night, CUMB has announced that Orgo Night is canceled.
According to a statement posted to CUMB’s Facebook page, they will not be holding Orgo Night as scheduled tonight. This announcement comes just hours after McAC also canceled their semesterly Midnight Breakfast.

To the Columbia University Community:
We are deeply saddened by the passing of first-year Barnard student Tessa Majors and stand with the entire Columbia and Barnard community in mourning. Out of respect for this tragedy, the band will no longer be holding this semester’s Orgo Night.
We encourage students seeking support to attend Barnard’s community gathering tonight at 7 pm in the Diana Center and to reach out to any available resources.

@Anonymous Perhaps it is a good thing that the CrUMB voted to disband the organization on Saturday evening after 116 years on September 15, 2020. Canceling ORGP night because of a student murder instead of holding the event in her honor to me was foolish and I sign of how disfunctional the “cleverest band in the world” had become
@Anonymous Cowards. SNL went on after 9/11.
@Jeff The season premiere of SNL that year was September 29, more than two weeks after 9/11. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday_Night_Live_(season_27)
Anyway, no idea what your point is or what cowardice has to do with cancelling the event. Honestly, do people have nothing better to do than write insults online?
@fellow jeff “do people have nothing better to do than write insults online?” yep
also, imagine comparing a internationally televised show that’s become a symbol of NYC in and of itself… to one campus’s pre-finals tradition – wild, huh
@anon SNL sucks man
