Valentine’s day weekend meant a time to make spontaneous choices at Bwog, whether for good (like participating in 24-hour Annie) or bad (like going to Beta sober).

Bwog was in the Valentine’s Day spirit:

  • Got some Thai food on Valentine’s Day just so I could call it ValenTHAIne’s Day
  • Got my heart broken by a Texan NYU student… a Texan! That’s on me
  • Got dinner with my girlfriend at Marlow for Valentine’s day, then went back to her place and watched Mean Girls
  • Got some quality time with my boyfriend :)
  • Got dressed up just for myself :)
  • Got caught up on The Bachelor
  • Hugged a boy on the dance floor of a frat party for at least 5 minutes
  • Was full of love for my friends
  • Made out with someone whose name I do NOT know :(
Bwog had absolutely legal fun with alcohol:
  • Watched Lemonade Mouth for the first time while drunk and it was transcendent
  • Also listened to 2015 Halsey while drunk and it was less transcendent
  • Explained to the difference between archaeology and paleontology to a drag queen in return for her buying me a shot
  • Spiked my JJ’s slushie for the first time
  • Made many trips between Carlton Arms and McBain while carrying very heavy bags of what was very obviously alcohol
  • Got blackout drunk at a frat party for the first time!
  • Got wine drunk at Bwalentine’s day on accident
Bwog embraced spontaneity:
  • Got my nose pierced!!
  • Walked to Absolute Bagels at 7:30 am when it was 15 degrees out because I was just that desperate for their bagels
  • Went to Washington Square Park to clear my head not once but twice
  • Told my mom I was doing a 24-hour musical to which she responded, “Honey, are you sure you want to do that?”
  • Did the 24-hour musical anyway and LOVED it
  • Attempted to explain universal basic income to a group of 11 year-olds
  • Went to Nuss TWICE
  • Went to Beta sober and I think that’s all that needs to be said
  • Worked more than legally allowed and LOVED it
  • Spent like an hour in Marshalls when all I needed was shampoo

Bwog did not embrace spontaneity:

  • Sat in Milstein for 12 hours
  • Sat in my dorm room for 12 hours
  • Went to the Bwog meeting
  • Wrote this Field Notes email
  • Realized I need to get a hobby
