Another Saturday, another Bwoglines. Here’s the latest.

Happening in the World: Brazil’s justice minister has resigned after accusing Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro of attempting to install a federal chief of police who would illicitly grant him access to secret intelligence reports. Bolsonaro has denied the accusations, but the allegations have drawn criticism among those involved in Brazilian politics. At least one member of the opposing party has suggested that the former minister’s comments may be grounds for impeachment, and the prosecutor-general has asking the country’s supreme court for permission to start an investigation into Bolsonaro’s conduct. Happening in the US: “Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine have not been shown to be safe and effective for treating or preventing COVID-19.” Such was the warning from the Food and Drug Administration on Friday, after the Journal of the American Health Association released the results of a Brazilian clinical study involving the drugs. The study itself had to be ended early after day thirteen, when nearly 40 percent of patients receiving higher doses of the drugs died. (WebMD)

Happening in NYC: Governor Cuomo issued an executive order yesterday allowing all New Yorkers voting in the June primary to vote by mail. The State Board of Elections will mail all eligible voters an absentee ballot that they can use to cast their vote for congressional, state Senate, and State Assembly positions.
