How Bwog Looks Cute On Zoom

Time to show that you’re the main character.

Zoom School (Zool, if you will) sucks. Here at Bwog, we cope with that sad fact in the best way we know how: making ourselves look hot.

  • Gold hoops of all types, including ones in the shape of a diamond
  • A fake nose ring, just to feel something
  • Our quirkiest handmade earrings (particularly teacup Shrinky Dink earrings made by a beloved Bwogger)
  • Layered dainty necklaces
  • Tortoiseshell barrettes from actually the year 2003
  • Blue light glasses. (Eye health is no joke!)
  • A pink fuzzy pen, to channel Cher from Clueless
  • Butterfly clips
  • Thrifted pearl dangly earrings

  • Doing Sun In highlights so my hair glows on camera
  • Bandanas, constantly
  • Sleeping in braids for beach waves
  • Recutting my bangs nightly so my classmates have a fun guessing game for the morning

  • Lots of mascara so my eyes take up my whole Zoom square
  • Winged eyeliner
  • Tinted Burt’s Bees lip balm
  • Colored eyeliner
  • Lip gloss, as an ode to Paris and Nicole (this is also sometimes reapplied whilst winking at the camera)
  • No makeup
  • Or alternately, very aggressive tradgoth makeup
  • Smudgy eyeshadow to make the sleep-deprived look seem intentional
  • Dark, powerful eyebrows

  • Strategic lighting and head positioning so people know I have blue hair
  • A ring light (Bought at the beginning when I cared more. Never used since.)
  • The best lighting to make me as frighteningly pale as possible

State of Being

  • Staring directly into the camera so when people look at me they think I’m looking at THEM no I’m not but you think I am and now I’m in your head and you can’t stop me
  • Thrifted pink Juicy Couture sweatsuit
