Senior Staff Writer Zach Fisher gets hungry often. Luckily his roommates always happen to keep the apartment stocked with delicious delicacies made for all times of the day. Bwog proudly presents: Snack Time.

Zoom can often feel unproductive – especially during class when ones utmost attention is demanded. Distractions, however, will always be abundant and none are as sidetracking as the action of nutritional consumption – or eating. Throughout the first month of classes I have taken it upon myself to consume everything from an entire chocolate cake to a freshly made sushi burrito during class. Some of these “meals,” however are complex and require one to put actual effort into what they eat. Luckily for you I have prepared my definitive listing for the best snacks to eat during zoom.

TAKIS

Arguably the BEST snack ever created; no snack list would be complete without the inclusion of Takis. Takis during zoom, however, adopt a singular purpose: keeping you awake during that long late night seminar you’ve regretted registering for week after week. Clocking in at a strong 3 on the “danger rating” (which seems decently dangerous given that a google search of “chemicals in Takis” brought me there), the spice and flavor Takis contribute are strong enough to jolt any sleepy student back to a state of full participation. The aftertaste and heat of the Takis will be so painful that you’ll find yourself unable to doze off after – call it a successful mission

Primary time range for consumption: 3pm-9pm (avoid before sleep).

Fiery Red Goodness

Inca Corn and Roasted Seaweed

Trader Joes when roughly translated into English reads as “heaven on earth,” and even with the validity of this translation in question the statement undoubtedly stands. While one may get overwhelmed when shopping in store due to the myriad of dishes at the shoppers disposal, I hope to guide you directly to the holy grail of TJs by offering up two of my favorite zoom snacks. Both can be paired with other heavier “dishes” but are best enjoyed alone for snacking – as one would do with a bar snack or cocktail hour dish. Both the Seaweed and Inca Corn are light and airy making them the perfect pre-meal-in-class-snack, yet, both have enough flavor to keep you satisfied. The unique flavors along with the pure addictiveness of the taste makes these two the ideal snack for continuous munching during class.

Primary time range for consumption: all day. every day.

GoldFish – Xtra Cheddar

This month the “theme” of my apartment was orange (Happy Halloween y’all). What that meant is that daily I would open the cabinet or fridge and discover a new orange tasty treat. Whether that was an orange creamsicle soda or deceptively not orange flavored orange Oreos each snack brought something else to the table. Never less, the clear standout is none other than the “Goldfish baked FLAVOR BLASTED Xtra Cheddar.” Quite the mouthful to say, especially when your mouth is stuffed full of little fish. Controversially known for their addictive properties I can attest that these properties are in fact accurate. Keep these tasty treats on hand throughout all zoom classes because before you know it you’ll have consumed bag 3, 4, and 5.

Other honorable mentions: Goldfish pizza flavor, Goldfish pretzel, Goldfish classic.

The more cheddar, the merrier

Milano: Dark Chocolate

It would be unfair too close this listing without offering a sweet to parallel the savory sensation all other snacks listed bring to the table. After trial and error eating all forms of dessert during class I have come to the conclusion that the Milano Dark Chocolate offers the most “bang for your buck.” Substantially Milanos will fill you up while still offering a nice creamy aftertaste to compliment your principles of Econ lecture. The perfect snack to end a hard day at work.

Not to be confused with Milano Market
