Happening in the World: Russia has expelled three foreign diplomats for attending protests in support of activist Alexei Navalny. Navalny, an outspoken critic of the Russian government, was arrested upon his return to the country after recovering from an attack with a toxic nerve agent, sparking widespread protests which the government condemned as illegal (BBC).

Happening in the US: The House of Representatives voted to remove freshman representative Marjorie Taylor-Green (R-FL) from her positions on the Education and Labor and Budget committees, in response to Taylor-Green’s calls for political violence and support for conspiracy theories such as QAnon (NYT).

Happening in NYC: New York City will open registration for Pre-K and 3K (pre-kindergarten for three- and four- year olds) on February 24. The city will expand the new 3K program to additional districts this school year (Gothamist).
